one thin that i thought was important is that even famous writers writes things that doesn't get to be published. So not every single thing that the person writes gets to be published. Gary Soto said that he wrote a play that wasn't no good and even his wife said it was no good. He even wrote a middle school novel that was to violent to be published, he said he wrote even poems that was no good ad that he had to burn up or kept. Something that i thought was interesting was that he doesn't remember any of his childhood friends, and that he goes down to his home town monthly.

Interesting

He has been a professor at the University of California at Berkeley.
Gary Soto reminds me of Mark Twain who also used his own boyhood experiences on which to base his many books and characters. The streets and neighborhoods of Fresno, California, are an integral part of his writing. He has said, "For me streets have always mattered. I conjure up inside my head an image of our old street in south Fresno."

Questions

Important

He was born in Fresno, California, of Mexican-American parents. His education includes a degree in English from California State University at Fresno and a Master of Arts degree in Fine Arts and Creative Writing. The Central Valley of California is central to the action in many of Soto's books.

What was intersting to me was that he graduated with 1.6 GPA. Then he still went to Fresno state College. It was intersting that he makes good stories. Also that you can really get into them.
