During class on Monday we began to read the play "Novio Boy" We have already read a short story, and two poems by Gary Soto. What are you beginning to notice about Gary Soto and his writing?
One thing that I am noticing with Gary Soto's writing is that he seems to use the last name Torres in his writing alot. The friend in "Seventh Grade" is named Michael Torres and the bully that sees Alex on his date is named Frankie Torres.
One thing I have noticing with Gary Soto's writing is all the story or play we have read on him has some thing to do with love. Like the play we was reading in class today it has a lot to do with love and boyfriend and girlfriends ,and his story is also about teen in middle school or high school.
I'm beginning to notice that all of his characters are Mexican, just like him. I also notice that he likes to kind of repeat stuff in his writings a little, but in his settings he likes keeping it in Frenso or he kind of mentions about Frenso.
I'm noticings that in Gary Soto's writing he always writes about love,girls meeting boys and vice versa. I say that because when we was watching the play the first three scenes where about a boy meeting a girl and getting ready to go out on a date but they where both shy and didn't know what to say so they had both their best friends help them prepare for there date
what i notice about Gary Soto's writing is that he uses a lot of kids and different languages in his writing.Gary Soto usually writes a short story or a book.
I've noticed that most of Gary Soto's writing is based on teenagers and things they go through. That have to do with school, friends, love, & hanging out. Most things based on teens lives. so he makes his plays and stories based on his life experience.
One thing that i noticed is that Gary Soto rights love stories. MOst of Gary Soto's books have to do with young boys, men to. It has to do with something chalenging like asking a girl out. Or anothing thing is a contest like dog sleding.
The thing that I have noticing in Gary Soto writing is that hge like to write about love and teens.For example the play that we are reading in class is talking about two teens that like each other and talking about girlfriends and boyfriends and talking about kids in middle schools and high school so I think he like reading about teens and other that why I like his book because every thing the he say in his book is really true and some time could happen.
It seems to me that most of Gary Soto's story mostly have to do with a girl. It has to do either with being with a girlfriend or trying to ask a girl out or trying to be friends with a girl. It seems to me that Gary Soto as a kid either he was shy with the ladies or was sort of on the low player player!!!!!!!
Gary Soto likes to write funny but interesting story. also he likes to write about teens that are broke. About boys and girl going on dates and trying to get ready for the date.

Something I noticed is that Gary Soto is very creative and like we said he bases some things in the area of Fresno, California. He always starts off the story with people in love or families that love each other. Either way the story has something to do with love. He starts off with at least 2 people so they can have a dialouge together, so far that is what I have noticed.
What I notice about Gary Soto was that he always do stories about teens mostly and there problems. And sometimes he might write plays about different people.

I think that the last name is somebody that he knew when he was a child and he knew somebody a family member or a friend or a close friend.

I noticed that his books and plays has something to do with humor and romance. That involves teenagers.
I notice he writes the book like a play.All his characters are mexican's just like him.Also it involoves young teens in school.This is my predection.
